I’ve been needing to get this post done for a while. I’m experiencing CrossFit-post writer’s block, so instead of me providing you something to read and think about, I’ll simply direct you to more of the wonderful bloggers I enjoy reading!
I wish I had time to read all the blogs I want to every day but my schedule simply doesn’t allow it.
Here are some more of my favorite reads that I know you’ll appreciate as well.
First though, here’s a link to my first blogroll. Looking at the list, it’s crazy to see the changes. Some bloggers that were posting frequently don’t post much content at all anymore (sad) and some bloggers are no longer blogging (super sad). Some CrossFitters really don’t CF anymore and some blogs have transitioned to other interests. Funny how things change.
It’s wild that I consider the bloggers below as friends. Wildly awesome.
Arman @ The Big Man’s World – Arman. Currently in Australia, soon to be in America. He’s already agreed to WOD with me, so that’s awesome. This guy makes some pretty amazing food and is getting ready to publish his first ecookbook (ebook cookbook? cookbook ebook?). Arman is great at coming up with healthy foods that require no cooking/baking, which is really super convenient! He’s also very open with his life and views on stuff and is just a cool guy all around. Looking forward to meeting him Stateside!
Lindsay @ Cotter Crunch – If you’re looking for some amazing gluten free recipes, look no further! Lindsay is always making healthy food, and she shares her knowledge of her ingredients and their body benefits with each recipe. Also, as a wife to a professional athlete, she can also drop knowledge bombs on how to fuel to be in the best shape to perform. Best of all (at least for me) she has a very well designed blog and methodology for blogging which I have tried to copy here on more than one occasion!
Jennifer @ TrueBarbellion – Jennifer aka Chucky is a fellow Tennesseean CrossFitter… that alone should be enough to get her on this list! But she is way more than that. Jennifer feels many of the same emotions and goes through the same struggles as I do (which means the same as you too). Her CrossFit posts are always introspective and well-writen, and she’s done a couple awesome interviews with authors and other members of the CrossFit community. She’s like, at least 3 times more a legit writer than me. Check her out.
Meghan @ Clean Eats, Fast Feets – Meghan has a crazy mind, a command of writing introductions, and some pretty fancy dishes. Oh and she likes bananas. So she is cool, even if she doesn’t CrossFit. She’s got recipes as well as humor and a splash of deep thoughts. I’m always happy to read anything she writes. She’s my friend. She’s also a #vanillagorilla … and I still don’t exactly understand what that means! =)
Jen @ Chase The Red Grape – I swear not everyone I read is named Jen or Jennifer! But it’s close. Jen lives across the pond so she uses the metric system which helps me develop my math skills whenever I read her. Why metrics? Oh because she posts about the weights she uses when she CrossFits! Yay! And in a show of it’s a small world Jen had her honeymoon in Tennessee! Crazy huh?
Cassie @ Almost Getting It Together – I have pretty much nothing in common with Cassie. I don’t remember how I found her blog. Cassie lives in San Francisco by way of Pittsburgh. She runs and doesn’t lift. She’s in marketing and not engineering. But she is hilarious and maybe the most sarcastic/full of sass blogger I have ever come across. And that keeps me coming back. Not to mention she has good content. Someday I’m going to visit San Francisco and meet her.
Well, I’d actually like to meet everyone on this list!
Shashi @ Runnin Srilankan – Shashi just might be the most creative recipe creator I’ve ever met. She is always finding ways to add creative ingredients to recipes. She knows how to create and weave her personal life stories into her recipes, making it easy and enjoyable to get to know her. If you want to healthy, tasty, and potentially wacky recipe, visit her!
Erin @ The Almond Eater – The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Erin is her photography skills. She makes some dang good recipes and like Shashi, she includes unique ingredients in them. But then she goes all food porn and takes amazing photos of them! Seriously yummy. She’ll even throw in a fitness posted once in a while.
GiGi @ GiGi Eats Celebrities – Last but not least, there’s GiGi. And yes she makes recipes too. ( wow it just dawned on me that literally everyone on this list creates recipes except me…. perhaps I’m missing out?!?) GiGi is special in that she creates weekly videos that complement her blog posts. She also will tackle new trendy diets here and there and give you facts about them, disproving some of their “claims”. But she’s crazy though… That’s why I like her.
There you have it – my second blogroll. I hope I introduced you to one or two new blogs that you might find interesting enough to read on a semi-normal basis. Just make sure you read me first okay? =)
That is when I actually get back to posting again…
Which reminds me, my first newsletter just went out and if you’re not on the list, you’re missing out. Sign up so you don’t miss another!
